LOW organises yet another successful SME Assembly

The 2022 SME Assembly was organised by a consortium headed by LOW and was yet again a huge success! Policymakers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders gathered to discuss how SMEs could survive the current circumstances of “polycrises”.

During Europe’s most significant event for SMEs, held this year in Prague, the energy shock, inflation crisis, and the struggle for post-pandemic recovery were foremost in attendees’ minds. The European Commission outlined plans for the SME Relief Package which aims to support businesses to deal with the economic fall-out from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Participants were encouraged to contribute their own ideas for the Relief Package.

The Assembly’s  highlights included the European Enterprise Promotion Awards which are given to organisations that  promote entrepreneurial talent. This year’s Grand Jury Prize, which recognises the most creative and inspiring initiative promoting entrepreneurship, went to: Love to be Free by UNIZO; a Belgian initiative that connects and represents freelancers.

The SME Assembly App was also a big success, with online attendees easily able to follow the live events, connect with others and learn more about the Assembly.

Overall, the SME Assembly achieved:

  • 9000+ contacts being made

  • 23 sessions and more than 90 expert speakers

  • 3 days of live and recorded sessions

Our expert team’s determination and creativity helped make this inspiring event a resounding success.
